🚚 How We Got Started

Our founder, Brian Callahan, grew up right up the road in Saugus and went to North Shore Community College. Brian spent six long years busting his knuckles on the crew of a big Boston van-line — and let me tell ya, he saw it ALL. Late trucks. Surprise fees that doubled the bill. Movers who treated Grandma’s china like a sack of bricks. Brian thought: “There’s GOTTA be a better way to do this!” So in 2012 he scraped together enough for one truck, called up a couple of trustworthy buddies, and Xtra Mile Moving was BORN. No funny business. No bait-and-switch. Just honest, hard-working folks who show up ON TIME and treat your stuff like it’s their own.

Fourteen years later we’re still right here on the North Shore, and we’ve grown into a crew of 14 hard-working employees — that’s 9 trained movers, 3 crew chiefs, a dispatcher, and the wonderful Karen who runs the office and actually answers the phone (imagine that!). We run a fleet of clean, well-kept box trucks loaded with blankets, dollies, straps, and wardrobe boxes. And here’s the kicker: we NEVER subcontract your move.
